From chef student to Eat Out restaurant editor
Former ICA graduate and well-known chef, food stylist, award-winning cookbook author and TV personality, Zola Nene, has recently joined the Eat Out editorial team as restaurant editor for Cape Town. Zola, together with her colleague in Johannesburg, is Eat Out’s eyes and ears on the ground. Her role is to visit restaurants, talk to the chefs, dine and review and gather news stories.
As such, Zola had the wonderfully exciting opportunity to cook with and interview Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen – the first ever South African chef to hold a Michelin star for his restaurant JAN in Nice, France.
Along with Zola, numerous other ICA graduates have also had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work alongside this accomplished chef at Restaurant JAN, showing the world that ICA-trained chefs have got what it takes to cook on an international, Michelin-quality level!
