Giving Back and Celebrating Success

In keeping with its social ethos, the ICA constantly endeavors to give back to the community through various progressive and supportive local training programs.  For a number of years, the ICA was especially selected as training facility for the South African Chefs Association (SACA) National Youth Chefs Training Program.

Students on this program qualified with a City & Guilds International Certificate in Food Preparation & Cooking, giving young, enthusiastic individuals the opportunity to gain an internationally recognized qualification in the ever growing chef’s trade, opening doors for a blooming culinary career.

Following their careers closely, two particularly successful stories recently highlighted in the media are those of Marchall Adams and Keletso Motau, both ICA SACA NYCTP graduates.

Keletso is currently right-hand food assistant to celebrated Woolworths Taste Magazine Food Editor, Abigail Donnely where he is working closely with the editorial team to determine trend-setting culinary ideas and developing recipes for its readers.  Marchall diligently worked his way from trainee up to Senior Product Developer at Rhodes Food Group, working full-time in their NPD kitchen and continuously developing top range products for Woolworths food shelves.

The ICA achieved a 100% pass rate for all students on the SACA certification program, providing graduates with a distinctive edge in the broader culinary industry.

The success stories of past students are a true testimony to the ICA’s ethos of culinary training excellence.
