Most educational institutes offer prospective students a chance to visit the establishment during what is called an Open Day. The ICA will be hosting such an event on 17 September (click here to book!) and our Open Days are some of the most exciting highlights on our annual events calendar!
Why is it important to attend an Open Day at the ICA?
Or, if you are unable to travel to the campus on the given date, why is it important that you make an appointment to visit the school if at all possible?
An ICA Open Day is much more than just an information session. It is a carefully planned event that will provide visitors with the unique opportunity to peek into a day in the life of an ICA student. Almost a kind of “fly-on-the-wall” scenario … and who can resist that!
Visitors to the ICA are guided through a culinary look into what it takes to train some of the very best chefs in South Africa and abroad. You will experience first-hand what it is that sets the ICA apart, what makes ICA students stand out from their peers, and why ICA graduates are considered the most sought-after culinary professionals in the industry.
The ICA campus is situated just outside of the bustling student town of Stellenbosch, surrounded by vineyards and orchards, in close proximity to SA’s best restaurants with access to some of the country’s best produce. Arriving here, the breathtaking view over the Banhoek Mountains and the precisely curated culinary gardens will emphasize why ICA Principal, Letitia Prinsloo, chose this specific location to establish an exclusive and intimate training ground for world-class chefs almost 30 years ago.
During the meticulous program of the day, prospective applicants and their accompanying parents/guardians will not only receive important course details but also invaluable insight into ICA philosophy and our constant strive for culinary education excellence. The campus tour, informative lecture, culinary skills demonstrations, information session, and watching current first-year students perform their cooking and pâtisserie skills to perfection will showcase the benefits of studying at Africa’s BEST Culinary Training Institute.
Sampling and tasting some of the exquisite creations made by our chef students will of course be the proverbial cherry on top!
Alumni all over the world are proud to belong to a select group of ICA-trained chefs. They value the unwavering commitment to training standards that have gone before them and will continue long after they have successfully completed their studies. Once graduated, ICA-trained chefs are equipped to truly excel in their field, keep the ICA flag flying high, and continue a life-long journey of distinction in all aspects of the culinary arts.
If you are interested in studying at the ICA, we look forward to welcoming you to our beautiful campus – whether as an attendee of our Open Day or visiting us for a private campus tour and info session.
